    All Bathroom Repairs London

Bathroom repairs consist of bathtub, shower and sink repairs. Resurfacing enamel baths to the highest standard is what we have been doing for years.

    Bath Resurfacing VS Replacement?

It’s actually easier to re enamel the bath on-site, where the bath is than to replace it. This is called doing the bath in situ

Replacing the bath can end up costing more due to having to pay for a plumber, maybe destroying the surrounding tiles of the bath and having to get that fixed.  Also, acrylic (plastic) baths are not as strong as cast iron or steel baths but it’s still a good idea to re-enamel them as they can become dull and damaged too.

It’s also contributing to a greener environment by repairing the bath you have instead of buying a completely new bath. Cast iron baths at present cost anywhere between £500-£5000. As a result, its a good idea to re enamel the bath! They are becoming more valuable these days

Is Bath Resurfacing the same as Bath Reglazing and Refinishing ?

There are many terms used to describe bath resurfacing. Bathtub reglazing and refinishing mean mainly the same thing so don’t be confused. In normal uses the words mean the same thing to the common man. Our bath restoration process will completely transform it

How Long does The Job Take?

Bath enamelling is done at your home and it usually takes 6 -7  hours to complete the full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing procedure.

When Can I Use The Bath After Its Re Enamelled?

You can use the bath after 24 hours from completion of the job by our technician.

Has The Bath Been Worked On Before?

If the bath has been worked on before and the bath was re-enamelled previously then it may show up that the bath is flaking, cracking, peeling away from the original bath enamel.

In this case we have to undo the work of the previous job before we can actually respray the bath.

If the old surface is damaged cracking or peeling away we have to get rid of that coating before we do our coating or it may continue to peel.

In this case we remove the old enamel surface and sand it back too to make it smooth again then we start our full bath re-enamelling and bath resurfacing procedure.

How Long Will The Bath Last?

The bath should last years, sometimes up to 10 years or more depending on the use of it. We have done baths years later to bring it fully back to life again so it’s smooth and shiny but sometimes the baths last less than that.

A bath like anything will wear and tear over time. You can’t expect it to look perfect after 5 or 10 years. With the bath tub repair done properly the surface should never come off.

With the use of modern spray cleaners and bleaches they dull the bath over time too.

    Is The Bathroom Protected?

Yes we cover the floor with dust sheets so it’s protected. We mask all around the bath so there is no over-spray.

We have an extractor that blows out any dust and enamel spray that is in the bathroom. We clean up as best we can after the job but it can get a bit dusty and it’s hard to catch everything working in a small space.

You may have to dust over the surface and run the bath and rinse it down before using it.

What Materials Do We Use For The Job?

We have tested and tried all the different enamel products and materials out there and we have found the best ones for the bath resurfacing job.

They are not the cheapest materials on the market but they are the best and that’s why we use them. The enamel we use is long lasting and durable. It has a deep shine to it.

Bath Resurfacing and Re-Enamelling Full Step-By-Step Procedure

    1. We dust sheet the whole bathroom and cover all surfaces.
    2. We clean the bath with certain spray cleaners for your bath and remove any old and mouldy sealant.
    3. We then repair any damage to the bath, if there are any chips, scratches, limescale damage, holes, worn away enamel, etc. we repair that. This can involve sanding of the bath too so it’s smooth again
    4. Then we use certain chemicals on the bath to prepare it for adhesion. We use certain solvents that get rid of any grease, etc.
    5. We then put on our FIRST bonding agent/adhesive
    6. Then we spray on our SECOND bonding agent/etching primer. This is what makes us different from other resurfacing companies in that we use two bonding methods
    7. We then spray on the bath enamel with 3-4 coats of white enamel. This is a spray gun finish. We have a full spray gun set up which is for domestic use
    8. We let the bath set and dry to a point and then we do any finishing touches, polishing, etc. if needed

Shower Tray Re Enamelling & Resurfacing London

Miltons do full shower tray re enamelling to restore your shower tray to new. It takes about 5-7 hours to fully re enamel it.

Sink & Basin Re Enamelling & Resurfacing London

We can fully re enamel ceramic and porcelain sinks, basins, butlers sinks and kitchen sinks to new. Sink restoration is worth doing and saves time and money overall.

How long will the new re enamelled surface last?

The newly enamelled bath should last 10-15 years and maybe even 20 years if maintained and cleaned properly.

How to care and maintain the surface after it is repaired or re enamelled?

Use a standard spray cleaner and spray over the bath, shower or sink and then leave for a few mins then wipe down with a cloth or sponge. Don’t use anything too abrasive on the surface or it could dull it.

Expert Insights: What You Need to Know About Bath Re-Enamelling and Resurfacing

While many think of bath re-enamelling as a cosmetic fix, it is actually a technical restoration process that significantly improves hygiene, structural integrity, heat retention, and value. Below, we dive into unique aspects of the service that are not currently addressed on your live page, helping customers make more informed decisions—and improving your organic authority in the process.

When Is Bath Re-Enamelling the Right Choice?

Many homeowners delay addressing bathtub issues until they become major problems. Here are tell-tale signs that re-enamelling is the smart next step:

    • The enamel feels rough to the touch, even after cleaning
    • Water no longer beads on the surface, indicating loss of seal
    • Visible chips, cracks, or rust spots
    • Persistent limescale or brown/yellow stains that don’t respond to cleaning
    • Discomfort when bathing due to a cold, uneven surface

These issues don’t necessarily mean the bath needs to be replaced—they’re exactly what re-enamelling is designed to fix.

Why Re-Enamelling Is More Than Just a Surface Coating

Our bath re-enamelling process is rooted in material science. The coatings we use are cross-linked acrylic polymer blends, engineered to:

    • Form a permanent chemical bond with the base material (cast iron, steel, or acrylic)
    • Provide superior tensile strength to resist cracking or flaking
    • Offer long-term resistance to high heat and moisture
    • Create a non-porous, hygienic layer that blocks bacterial growth and biofilm

We apply the enamel using high-volume low-pressure (HVLP) spray technology, ensuring even thickness, no brush strokes, and factory-level smoothness.

Frequently Overlooked Advantages of Bath Resurfacing

Most homeowners consider bath resurfacing for aesthetic reasons—but there are additional functional and long-term benefits that make this service a valuable investment.

    Improved Heat Retention

Worn enamel reduces a bath’s ability to retain heat. A freshly resurfaced bath holds warmth for longer, providing a better bathing experience and lower energy bills.

    Better Hygiene

Aging enamel becomes rough and micro-porous, making it easy for soap scum, bacteria, and mould to cling. Our re-enamelled surfaces are fully sealed and easy to clean, enhancing bathroom hygiene.

    Slip Resistance & Safety

We offer optional anti-slip finishes that can be embedded in the enamel layer, providing added safety—especially important for elderly residents or families with young children.

    Quiet Bathing

New enamel helps reduce echoing and vibration, especially in steel baths. The result? A quieter, more relaxing soak.

Types of Baths We Can Restore

We expertly restore a wide range of bath types, including:
    Vintage roll-top and clawfoot tubs

    • Built-in steel and cast iron bathtubs
    • Modern acrylic baths with discolouration or surface dullness
    • Corner or shaped baths in designer bathrooms
    • Hotel, spa and B&B guest bathrooms with multiple tubs needing uniform finish

No matter the shape, colour, or age, we tailor our enamel and application method to suit the specific substrate.

Aftercare: Keeping Your Bath Looking Brand New

We provide a complete aftercare kit and maintenance guide with every service, but here’s a preview of what ensures longevity:
    Use non-abrasive, pH-neutral cleaners

    • Avoid suction mats, which can trap moisture
    • Don’t drop heavy objects into the tub
    • Rinse and dry after each use to prevent mineral buildup
    • Contact us early if minor chips occur—we offer touch-up services

    Environmentally Sustainable Choice

Choosing bath re-enamelling is not just cost-effective—it’s also eco-responsible:

    • Keeps large items like cast iron tubs out of landfill
    • Avoids manufacturing and shipping emissions associated with new fixtures
    • Minimises plastic waste from packaging and plumbing parts
    • Extends the usable life of existing materials—a core principle of sustainable living

We’re proud to align our services with circular economy principles, especially as more homeowners and property developers seek eco-conscious options.

    Add-On Services to Maximise Value

You can bundle additional restoration services with your bath re-enamelling, such as:

    • Recoating of nearby tiles or sink units
    • Sealant removal and reapplication around the bath
    • Overflow and drain trim restoration
    • Repair and polish of adjacent ceramic surfaces
    • Discreet anti-slip coatings embedded in the enamel

These upgrades elevate the appearance of the entire bathroom, not just the bath.
