Bath Enamel Flaking or Cracking?
If the bath was re-enamelled before it is possible that the enamel is now flaking or cracking and peeling off!
Sadly this could be the case if the bath was not re enamelled properly in the past.
Don’t worry, we will remove the old enamel coating that was put on by a previous company.
We remove the whole enamel coating and get back to the original and then we will do the job properly from there
We use two bonding agents to ensure the enamel surface will not flake off or crack in the future.
How long will the new enamel surface last?
The bath should last years, 10-15 years or more depending on how it is maintained.
You can use general house cleaners like Mr Muscle, Flash, Ecover etc to clean the bath.
Don’t use bleach as this will dull the bath over time. Don’t use anything harsh like a scouring pad on the bath as this will scratch and dull it
Bath Re Enamelling & Bath Resurfacing Procedure Essex
- We dust sheet the whole bathroom and cover all surfaces.
- We clean the bath with certain spray cleaners for your bath and remove any old and mouldy sealant.
- We then repair any damage to the bath, if there are any chips, scratches, limescale damage, holes, worn away enamel, etc. we repair that. This can involve sanding of the bath too so it’s smooth again
- Then we use certain chemicals on the bath to prepare it for adhesion. We use certain solvents that get rid of any grease, etc.
- We then put on our FIRST bonding agent/adhesive
- Then we spray on our SECOND bonding agent/etching primer. This is what makes us different from other resurfacing companies in that we use two bonding methods
- We then spray on the bath enamel with 3-4 coats of white enamel. This is a spray gun finish. We have a full spray gun set up which is for domestic use
- We let the bath set and dry to a point and then we do any finishing touches, polishing, etc. if needed

Understanding Bath Re-Enamelling and Surface Restoration
Bath re-enamelling services in Essex involve the professional resurfacing of an existing bath by repairing surface damage and applying a new enamel-like coating. This process restores the original appearance and protective finish of the bath, making it look and feel like new.
Over time, baths can suffer from chips, scratches, discolouration, limescale build-up, and worn enamel caused by daily use, harsh cleaning products, or hard water conditions common in many Essex areas. Re-enamelling addresses these issues directly, without the need for costly plumbing alterations or tile removal.
This service is suitable for cast iron, steel, and acrylic baths, and is commonly chosen for both modern and traditional properties across Essex towns and surrounding residential developments.
Why Choose Bath Re-Enamelling Instead of Replacement
Replacing a bath often involves extensive labour, plumbing changes, tile damage, and disposal costs. In contrast, professional bath resurfacing in Essex offers a streamlined alternative that delivers exceptional results with far less disruption.
Re-enamelling preserves the original structure of your bath while providing a fresh, durable surface that enhances both appearance and functionality. It is an environmentally responsible choice that reduces waste and avoids unnecessary material consumption, aligning with modern property maintenance standards.
For landlords and property professionals, this approach ensures quick turnaround times between tenancies while maintaining high presentation standards.
Key Benefits of Professional Bath Re-Enamelling
Choosing professional bath enamel restoration in Essex provides several long-term advantages for both residential and commercial properties.
A re-enamelled bath is easier to clean, more hygienic, and resistant to staining when properly maintained. The smooth, sealed surface prevents dirt and bacteria from embedding into worn enamel, improving bathroom hygiene standards.
From a financial perspective, bath re-enamelling costs significantly less than replacement while delivering comparable visual results. This makes it an ideal solution for property upgrades, refurbishments, and routine maintenance projects across Essex.
Our Professional Bath Re-Enamelling Process
Every bath restoration project follows a structured, industry-approved process designed to ensure consistency, durability, and safety.
The bath is first thoroughly cleaned and degreased to remove soap residue, limescale, and contaminants. Any chips, cracks, or surface imperfections are professionally repaired and smoothed to create a flawless base.
The surface is then mechanically prepared to ensure strong adhesion of the new coating. A high-performance enamel coating is applied evenly using specialist techniques, resulting in a smooth, high-gloss finish that closely matches the original appearance of the bath.
This bath re-enamelling service in Essex is carried out on-site, allowing most bathrooms to be back in use within a short period, subject to curing times.
Suitable Properties and Applications
Bath re-enamelling is suitable for a wide range of property types throughout Essex, including private homes, rental properties, hotels, guest houses, and serviced accommodation.
Older properties with original cast iron baths benefit significantly from re-enamelling, preserving period features while improving usability. Modern homes and apartments also benefit from restoring acrylic or steel baths that show early signs of wear.
This service is particularly valuable in high-use environments where appearance, hygiene, and durability are essential.
Materials, Safety, and Industry Standards
Our bath restoration work is completed using professional-grade coatings and materials designed for durability, water resistance, and long-term performance. All products are selected to meet industry safety standards and are applied by trained technicians with hands-on experience in surface restoration.
Ventilation, preparation, and application methods are carefully controlled to ensure safe working conditions within residential and commercial environments. This professional approach supports both performance and compliance with best practice standards.
By choosing experienced specialists for bath re-enamelling in Essex, clients benefit from workmanship that prioritises safety, quality, and reliability.
Longevity, Care, and Maintenance After Re-Enamelling
A professionally re-enamelled bath can last many years when properly maintained. Regular cleaning with non-abrasive products helps preserve the finish and prevents premature wear.
Avoiding harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, and heavy impacts ensures the coating remains smooth and intact. With proper care, bath resurfacing provides a long-term solution that maintains both appearance and functionality.
This durability makes professional bath resurfacing in Essex a preferred option for property owners seeking lasting value.
