Common Laminate Countertop Issues We Address

    Scratches and Scuffs

Surface marks from knives, utensils, or abrasive cleaning tools. Cosmetic scratches that dull the finish or leave visible lines. Can usually be filled, polished, and blended to restore a smooth surface.

Caused by impact from heavy items like pots or appliances. Often occur near corners, edges, or seams. Repaired with color-matched filler to restore both strength and appearance.

Usually a result of structural stress, age, or improper installation.

Hairline or deep cracks can weaken the surface and allow moisture penetration. Professionally filled and sealed to prevent further damag

Edge bands or corner sections can peel away due to water exposure or adhesive failure. Re-glued and sealed for a seamless, long-lasting finish.

Hot pans or appliances can leave dark marks or melted spots. These areas are resurfaced or patched to restore a consistent finish.

Especially around sink areas, seams may swell or bubble due to trapped moisture. Requires moisture extraction, surface leveling, and resealing.

Common from wine, food dyes, cleaners, or prolonged sun exposure. Surface sanding and refinishing can often restore original color.

Our Repair Process of Laminate Countertop

    Initial Assessment

We begin by thoroughly inspecting the damaged area to determine the type and extent of the issue — whether it’s chips, cracks, burns, or surface wear. This helps us select the best repair method and materials.

The countertop is cleaned and lightly abraded to remove grease, dirt, or loose material. This step ensures proper adhesion of the filler and repair compounds.

For Chips and Cracks: We apply a color-matched epoxy or resin filler to rebuild the damaged section.

For Burns or Deep Scratches: Damaged areas are sanded down and resurfaced with specialized compounds.

For Peeling or Bubbling Laminate: We re-adhere lifted areas or replace small sections of laminate if needed.

Once the filler or adhesive has cured, the area is sanded flush with the surrounding surface to eliminate any unevenness and create a seamless finish.

We carefully match the original color and pattern of your laminate using custom-mixed coatings. These are applied to blend the repaired area into the rest of the countertop.

A durable topcoat is applied to seal the repair and provide a smooth, glossy finish. This not only protects the surface but also enhances its appearance.

Before we complete the job, we perform a final inspection to ensure the repair is virtually invisible, smooth to the touch, and fully functional.
