3. Rust:  rust around the taps, overflow and waste is NOT covered under warranty if rust appears later after re enamelling or resurfacing. All rust is handled on the day as part of the re enamelling and resurfacing process before spraying the new enamel coating. Rust that appears later could be due to leaking water which would be a plumbing issue.

4. Discolouration: hair dyes, bath bombs, paints and any other discolouration to the bath, sink or shower tray after re enamelling is NOT covered under warranty. The enamel paint we use does not itself discolour over time and therefore we are not responsible for any discolouration.

5. Silcone mould, peeling or discolouring is NOT covered under warranty. We usually replace silicone after re enamelling and resurfacing so fresh before completing the job. Silicone will begin to mould and discolour if the surface is not cleaned and maintained over time and is the responsibility of the owner of the bath, shower or sink.

Bath Mats: We do NOT cover any damage caused by bath mats.

We do not cover any damage from bath mats. Bath mats with suction cups on the bottom cause the most damage as they can cause limescale around the suction cups, they can lift the newly re enamelled surface off, the can cause rusting if they remove the newly enamelled surface and get back to the original. Any damage caused by bath mats is not our responsibility. Some Hotels use bath mats after the fact or re enamelling and it causes damage. Any damage from bath mats after the fact of re enamelling does NOT come under warranty.

Shower Tray Crack Repairs Warranty: 3 Month Warranty on Cracks

Shower tray crack repairs have a 12 week warranty/ 3 Month Warranty & Guarantee. Shower & Bath Crack Repairs can have other causes and issues unforeseen such as plumber did not fit the shower tray correctly and its not level to the floor. The Shower tray is flat to the floor but the floor has movement in it which causes the shower tray to crack again. The shower tray can be very flexible and have a lot of movement in it so once the crack is repaired, a persons full body weight on the tray could cause it to crack again.

Rust Repairs: We do NOT issue warranty on rust repairs.

For Rust to have formed the damage has gone right back to the original metal whether cast iron or a steel bath, sink or shower tray. Water, oxygen and the metal has caused the rust to form and has caused the damage. We will apply products and usually sand back the rust to the original surface before then filling and respraying the area. In the case that the bathtub or shower tray is fully tiled in, or the bath panel cannot be removed then we can only handle the rust damage on the surface of the repair and cannot get access to the underneath. Rust can come back if there is a plumbing leak in a pipe or a leaking tap or overflow. We cannot offer a warranty on that as that is a plumbing issue that is continuing to cause further damage.

Natural Contours and “Defects” & Blemishes on Baths, Shower & Sinks

Cast Iron/ Steel baths, sinks and shower trays have their own character with contours and defects from when they were originally created in the cast. These natural contours, defects and blemishes are part of the original surface and we cannot change this. The cast iron surface is rock hard and was originally baked on at extreme temperatures to form the cast iron bath. We can only sand back, grind back, sand and refill and then respray a new surface on the bath, sink or shower tray. Most cast iron baths have their own unique character from the day they were made.

Kithen Sinks:  NO Warranty on Kitchen Sink due to the heavy and constant wear.

We do NOT offer any warranty to kitchen sinks due to the fact of hard ware and tear due to pots and pans, knifes and sharp objects being thrown in the sink which could cause damage to the original. We only do minor repairs on the tops of kitchen sinks and do not address any damage on the bottom of kitchen sinks due to the constant heavy use.

General Cleaning:

Please take care with cleaning after the fact of re enamelling or resurfacing.

1. Use spray cleaners such as Flash, Mr Muscle, Ecover and spray over the surface and leave for a few mins before wiping down with a sponge or cloth.

2. Do NOT use Brasso or metal scrubbies or heavy duty cleaning pads on the newly re enameeled or resurfaced bath, shower or sink. Brasso, Metal Scrubbies, Heavy Duty scrubs will damage and discolour the surface over time.

3. Do NOT use Bleach on the bath as this will dull the surface and remove the shine over time.

4. Do NOT use Cif Creams or Abrasive creams to clean the surface as this could cause discolouration and remove the shine over time.

5. Leave the newly re enamelled surface a minimum of 24 hours before using it and before cleaning.

Other Data:

These materials (baths, shower trays et)were originally manufactured in tightly controlled and often sterile environments.

Intense heat or high pressure may have been used in their production. Baths having being created in a furnace. Since we cannot duplicate these conditions on site, there are limitations to our processes that are created by the location of the item/s and the condition of the items.

Airborne dust from any source will fall on any flat surface and can create slight defect. This is due to environment conditions. We do our best to make the air as dust free as possible but we can’t duplicate the original manufacturing environment.

Small pinholes( small tiny black dots on a bath ) may appear in porous or worn surfaces. Pinholes are tiny black pinprick dots on a bath enamel surface. The pinholes were originally created when the bath was originally made in the furnace. The pinholes are designed to help the bath expand and contract under cold or hot temperatures. We cannot cover against pin holes as that is originally part of the manufacturing of the time.

Existing flaws or defects caused during the manufacturing process or simply due wear and tear and age of the item unless attended to will adversely affect the finish.

These flaws and defects may incur extra work and costs not originally quoted for prior to inspection. We will inform of this at the time if needed.

Milton’s Enamel Repairs service is designed to give you a quality finish that will last, as well as save you both time and money from plumbing, removal costs, etc.

Repair and/or resurfacing is an alternative to replacement; whilst the item/s or area/s may look as good as new, they are not. We repair as best as possible and to the highest quality we can achieve in the environmental circumstances.

Milton’s Enamel Repairs repairs have a warranty of 1 Year from completion of the work done. The 1 year warranty covers minor repairs and spot repairs on baths, showers, sinks, wood, tiles etc.
