How long will the new re enamelled surface last?
The newly enamelled bath should last 10-15 years and maybe even 20 years if maintained and cleaned properly.
How to care and maintain the surface after it is repaired or re enamelled?
Use a standard spray cleaner and spray over the bath, shower or sink and then leave for a few mins then wipe down with a cloth or sponge. Don’t use anything too abrasive on the surface or it could dull it.
Don’t use bleach on the bath as bleach can also dull it over time and it looses its shine.
Limescale removers can be used on the surface without harm
Do i need to do anything before the Bath Repair Technician arrives to do the job?
Yes please empty the bathroom of towels, bath robes, tooth brushes, perfumes etc etc so that the bathroom is basically empty. When we are restoring the surface we may need to sand and repair sections or completely take off the enamel surface before we can put our enamel surface. Best to protect all your belongings for full bath resurfacing.

Miltons have over 30 years experience in cast iron bath re enamelling and resurfacing. We can refinish, restore, reglaze the bathtub to look and feel like new.
Miltons offer a 5 Year warranty on bath re enamelling.
The warranty covers flaking , cracking or peeling of the new bath enamel surface. With our bath re enamelling service you will not be disappointed!
The warranty does not cover new chips, scratches, damage, discolouration, limescale, dirt that has been caused by use or misuse of the surface.
Bath resurfacing is the process of re-spraying the bath with a 3-4 enamel coatings so it has a clean, smooth and shiny finish like a new bath.
Miltons can re enamel Baths, Sinks and Shower Trays to look like New.
There are usually bath chips, limescale, old sealant, scratches, roughness, etc that we have to remove and repair before we start with the bath resurfacing and bath re enamelling.
We can restore your bath to new in a day and you can use the bath the following day.
It’s actually easier to re enamel the bath on-site, where the bath is than to replace it. This is called doing the bath in situ
Replacing the bath can end up costing more due to having to pay for a plumber, maybe destroying the surrounding tiles of the bath and having to get that fixed. Also, acrylic (plastic) baths are not as strong as cast iron or steel baths but it’s still a good idea to re-enamel them as they can become dull and damaged too.
It’s also contributing to a greener environment by repairing the bath you have instead of buying a completely new bath. Cast iron baths at present cost anywhere between £500-£5000. As a result, its a good idea to re enamel the bath! They are becoming more valuable these days
There are many terms used to describe bath resurfacing. Bathtub reglazing and refinishing mean mainly the same thing so don’t be confused. In normal uses the words mean the same thing to the common man. Our bath restoration process will completely transform it
Bath enamelling is done at your home and it usually takes 6 -7 hours to complete the full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing procedure.
You can use the bath after 24 hours from completion of the job by our technician.
If the bath has been worked on before and the bath was re-enamelled previously then it may show up that the bath is flaking, cracking, peeling away from the original bath enamel.
In this case we have to undo the work of the previous job before we can actually respray the bath.
If the old surface is damaged cracking or peeling away we have to get rid of that coating before we do our coating or it may continue to peel.
In this case we remove the old enamel surface and sand it back too to make it smooth again then we start our full bath re-enamelling and bath resurfacing procedure.
The bath should last years, sometimes up to 10 years or more depending on the use of it. We have done baths years later to bring it fully back to life again so it’s smooth and shiny but sometimes the baths last less than that.
A bath like anything will wear and tear over time. You can’t expect it to look perfect after 5 or 10 years. With the bath tub repair done properly the surface should never come off.
With the use of modern spray cleaners and bleaches they dull the bath over time too.
